Royal Mail PRDC- Princess Royal Distribution Centre -3 week contract.

Sontec was contracted to supply and install a new 160A three phase supply to a new conveyancing
machine which would speed up packet sorting within the Royal mail distribution hub.

120 meters of 300mm Heavy gauge ladder racking from unitrunk was installed on a horizontal plane
to house the 50mm 4-core SWA XLPE supply cable with a separate 35mm G/Y 6491B LSF single core CPC.

This cable then terminated into an MEM Glasgow switch fuse isolator which was mounted low level
on a 14 meter box section power pole.

The power pole installed under controlled conditions by Sontec electrical using a Con 14 electric
scissor lift and a genie Z4B articulated boom.

The pole was mounted and erected using a Genie lift SLA25.

All barriers and edge protection was supplied and installed by Sontec.

The cabling was then terminated out of normal hours to minimise disruption into the existing
MCCB panel.

The above works was testing, commissioned and completed in 18 working days with a three
man team, 3 days ahead off schedule.

Royal Mail HCN - Home Counties North Hemel Hempstead Mail Centre - 4 Week contract

Sontec was contracted to supply and install a new high level 40A TP+N MEM bus bar system to serve
10 new bag tip sorting machines.

Early morning starts were implemented to minimise disruption to the daily and extremely busy operation of the mail centre.

Ten number new power poles were erected at 8500mm spacing's using the same methods as at PRDC.

The power poles installed under controlled conditions by Sontec electrical using a Con 14 electric scissor
lift and a genie Z4B articulated boom.

These were tied into the supports at a height of 14.2 meters AFFL.

The bus bar trunking was supplied by a 16mm XLPE LSF 4-core SWA terminated into a custom made end
feed unit directly supplied from the MEM factory in Birmingham.

Each power pole was then supplied by the local 16A S/P tap off unit at high level, from there it was wired
via 6mm S/Y cabling cable tied on a 75mm MRF perorated cable tray to the industrial socket outlet
mounted directly on the pole.

LONDON EXCEL CONFERENCE BOX: 36 Week Contract.

Labour only sub contract to install all primary containment / conduit to H/L fan coil units and low level floor boxes.

General scope of works included:

• Containment, installation and erection of all 9 distribution boards and change over panels in switch rooms LV1 and LV2
• All lighting and power wiring.
• DALI touch panel lighting control and LV controls to every lighting position.
• 3 phase bus bar trunking for high and low level supplies.
• All toilet areas including disabled alarm.
• Emergency lighting system.

Over 2000 mtrs of trunking was installed at a height of 5.7 metres, with over 800 lights being installed.

GRANTA PARK in Cambridge

Works that have been carried out by Sontec include planned maintenance of the communal grounds and its electrical services and several buildings on the science park and works have included:

• Maintenance on car park and bollard lighting across the 120 Acre site.
• 5 Year Periodic Inspection reports.
• Lighting replacement schemes and Eco upgrades.
• Outside Lighting to the newly built security lodge.

All the above works was tested and commissioned by Sontec Electrical.

NORTHOLT LEISURE CENTRE: 42 Week Contract

A new build 4 million pound leisure centre in the heart of Northolt.

This installation took our team of six electricians over 42 weeks to complete.

Consisting of Main pool and training pool with adjustable floor and depth via the RAM system.

Gymnasium, Dance studio, changing village and trade Kitchen all installed by Sontec Electrical.

General scope of works included:

• Containment consisting of Cable tray / PVC conduit to all LV cabling from the sub mains to general lighting and power.
• The DALI BUS lighting control system was wired and terminated by Sontec for final commission by the specialist contractor.
• All, PA, TV and speaker conduit + cabling was installed by Sontec to a specialist contractors schematic.

All the above works was tested and commissioned by Sontec Electrical.

KENWOOD PLACE: 50 week Contract

Labour only sub contract to install all cabling to supply penthouse apartment of a well known premier league director.

Including all LUTRON cabling, which comprised of a full home works system for automated blinds, drapes, under floor heating and scene set lighting controlled by a 7 button switch button in every room.

The home entertainment system was also installed to a specialist American contractors schematic for final connection by the specialist, this included :

• ALL speakers .
• Volume control.
• Plasma wiring (HDMI) (RGB5/6) .
• Inca lift for plasma control.

Approx 10 miles of cabling was run in total, including over 150 lighting circuits

All the above works was tested and commissioned by Sontec Electrical.

Eco lighting upgrade, Stockley Park: 16 Week Contract

General scope of works included:

• 800 new low energy 750 x 750 lay in ceiling light fittings with one number 4 pin 58 watt mPL lamp from Luxonic.
• Replacing existing four tube 58watt fittings and in the process reducing the carbon footprint by a quarter.
• Over 250 new generation 38watt LED down lighters replacing exiting 12v 50 watt halogen lamps, thus making a dramatic saving on energy and ultimately cost.
• In total over 1500 light fitting were replaced in total over a 16 week period.
• The open plan office area was completed at night to minimise disruption to the 900 office staff that occupy the building.

Sontec also took an active role in the safe and responsible disposal of all waste.
Existing fittings were segregated from the aluminium diffusers for recycling, and all lamps were disposed of under the WEE of WEI directive for safe disposal of lamps.

All the above works was tested and commissioned by Sontec Electrical.
